Youth Ministry Timeline
The history of youth ministry begins not with a date but with a question. How do we help teens reach their potential in Christ?
In so many ways, youth ministry was this organic thing that kept growing and maturing right alongside the concept of adolescence. The timeline shows big moments that helped shape youth ministry in this nation and in the SBC.

Recreation, Choirs, and Camps were catalysts for youth ministry in the SBC. This page will house some insights and historical observations.
I hope to update this section as my dissertation reaches completion. You can see my bibliography develop as well as other pieces of the puzzle.
This page lists those with specific duties relating to youth ministry at the denominational level or multiple youth ministries (i.e. state consultants, authors, etc...).

The real criteria for evaluating youth ministry is this question: Are we consistently introducing teenagers to Jesus and then discpiling them into believers who will, for a lifetime, love God, love people, and make disciples for the glory of God. Youth Ministry that Lasts a Lifetime, 2017.
